Shallotte, NC — As temperatures fall below 40°, Christian Recovery Centers, Inc. (CRCI) is opening its Shallotte campus to provide a safe, warm place, along with meals for individuals in the community who are homeless or in need. The organization has activated its warming shelter in response to this weekend’s winter weather across southeastern North Carolina.
Located at 520 Mulberry Street, the facility is offering meals, local transportation, and residential care to single men and women during the cold snap. Check‑in begins daily at 5:00 p.m., and services will continue through Saturday or Sunday night depending on weather conditions.
CRCI’s warming shelter operates under specific guidelines: guests must be sober, independently mobile, and free of weapons or illicit substances. The facility is also tobacco‑free.
CRCI cannot accommodate families at this time.
Founded in 2004, Christian Recovery Centers is a nonprofit organization focused on addiction recovery and transitional care. Its Shallotte campus provides structured residential programs and community outreach, including emergency sheltering during extreme weather events.
