HALLSBORO — A months‑long undercover narcotics investigation led to a major cocaine trafficking bust Tuesday after Columbus County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant at a home on Red Bug Road, according to Sheriff W.A. Rogers.
Detectives with the Vice/Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Criminal Investigations Division and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, searched 514 Red Bug Road on May 12 following multiple controlled purchases made from the residence during the investigation.
Inside the home, investigators found trafficking quantities of cocaine along with a firearm, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Two people were taken into custody:
Jamal Devon Bryant
Charges:
- Possession of firearm by felon
- Two counts of trafficking in cocaine
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver cocaine
- Maintaining a place for a controlled substance
- Manufacturing cocaine
- Selling within 1,000 feet of a park
- Two counts of conspiracy to traffic cocaine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Bond: No bond issued at first appearance.
Susan Blair Rabon
Charges:
- Two counts of conspiracy to traffic cocaine
- Three counts of felony aid and abet
Bond: $75,000 secured.
Sheriff Rogers said the case highlights the persistence required in long‑term narcotics investigations.
“These investigations take time, patience, and persistence,” Rogers said. “We will continue working with our local, state, and federal partners to identify those bringing dangerous narcotics into our communities and hold them accountable.”
The Sheriff’s Office noted that all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
