COMMUNITY UPDATE – BOLIVIA, N.C. Bolivia Post Office provides operational update amid staffing shortages and recent changes
BOLIVIA, NC — The Postmaster of the Bolivia Post Office has issued a community update following several weeks of operational changes, staffing challenges, and the recent loss of a longtime mail carrier.
According to the Postmaster, the Bolivia Post Office on Business 17 remains fully open Monday through Saturday, with a daily lunch closure from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. While some carriers have relocated to a different facility, all in‑person retail services continue to be handled exclusively at the Bolivia location.
Customers tracking parcels should be aware that items marked as “arrived at facility” are not physically received at the Bolivia office until after 3:30 p.m. Residents who plan to pick up packages are encouraged to wait until that time for accurate availability.
The Postmaster noted that management staff are frequently traveling between the two operational sites. Community members who need to meet with management in person are asked to schedule an appointment to ensure availability.
The office is currently experiencing significant staffing shortages. Approximately 14 carrier positions are open, and hiring will resume after August 7 when new job postings go live for multiple routes. The Postmaster emphasized that the team is working hard to maintain service levels during this transition and expressed appreciation for the community’s patience.
“We know the last month has brought changes and challenges,” the Postmaster said. “We appreciate your understanding as we navigate these adjustments and make corrections.”
