It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Earline Porter Paxton Moore, who passed from death to life on July 11, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on June 29, 1943, in Kearney, Nebraska, Earline was a beacon of love, faith, and kindness throughout her life.
Known to her friends and family as “Candy” because of her sweet nature, Earline was the cherished oldest daughter of the late Rufus Porter and Annie Doris (Weeks) Porter of Pensacola, Florida. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Gerald “Jerry” Leroy Paxton and Bennie Tillman Moore, her brother Austin, and her parents.
Her life was a testament to devotion and service. She was a loving wife to Jerry for over two decades as they navigated military life together, supporting his career in the US Air Force. Later, she found a generous, gentle, and trusting soulmate in Bennie T Moore.
Her creative spirit was evident in her many talents. Earline earned her cosmetology degree in Denver, Colorado, and over the years, she touched many lives as a hairdresser and wig stylist. Her dedication to family extended beyond the salon, as she worked as a nanny and an Avon Representative, always finding ways to support those she loved.
A woman of profound faith, Earline was a devoted Christian from a young age. She found joy and comfort in singing with church choirs, attending Bible studies, and praying fervently for her family and friends. She was known as a powerful prayer warrior, a source of strength and comfort to all who knew her.
Earline’s generosity knew no bounds. She opened her heart and home to many, earning her a large family of “spiritual sons and daughters.” Her gift of discernment allowed her to understand and care for those in need, and her homemade treats, crafted from cookbooks she read as novels, were legendary.
She is survived by her son, David Paxton, and his wife Jo Lynn; daughters Tina Paxton-Peeks and her husband Jack, and Alisha Moore; sisters Linda Dean and her husband David, Joyce Catchot, Donna Carier, Lisa Olivier, and Cindy Foster. Earline also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friend, Kathleen Ludlum, all of whom will forever cherish the warmth and wisdom she shared.
Earline’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, courage, and compassion. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and unwavering faith. In memory of Earline, the family kindly suggests donations to Mercy Meals Ministry that supports those who are hungry and hurting, reflecting her life’s dedication to helping others.
