Review finds the June 4 livestream failure did not warrant further action

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC — The North Carolina State Board of Elections has found no violation in a complaint filed against the Columbus County Board of Elections after a June meeting experienced a failed livestream.

The complaint stemmed from a livestream failure during the Columbus County Board of Elections’ June 4 early‑voting meeting.

State elections staff reviewed the circumstances and outlined their assessment during the State Board’s July 16 session in Raleigh. Following that review, the board voted 4 -1 to end its consideration of the matter, concluding that no violation was found.

According to the state board, the livestream interruption did not rise to the level of a statutory violation and did not warrant additional review. The county board had already acknowledged the technical problem and reported steps taken to prevent similar disruptions in future meetings.
