Property tax staff will assist with exemptions, appeals, listings, and delinquent accounts
Brunswick County, NC — The County Tax Office will hold six free outreach events this spring to help residents with property tax questions and required paperwork.
Staff will be available to discuss exemption programs for elderly, disabled, and disabled veteran taxpayers, explain appeal periods, assist with listing personal or business property, and provide guidance on delinquent collections.
Note: These sessions do not provide assistance with filing 2025 state or federal income tax returns. They are strictly for Brunswick County property tax services.
Who Qualifies for Exemptions?
– Seniors: Homeowners 65 or older as of January 1 of the tax year.
– Disabled: Homeowners of any age who are totally and permanently disabled, verified by a Social Security disability award letter or a physician certification.
– Joint Ownership: If the home is jointly owned, the exemption may still apply as long as one owner qualifies and lives in the home. All owners must sign the application.
