WHITEVILLE — A Whiteville man is facing a slate of felony charges after investigators linked him to a violent home invasion reported late last month.

Draquawn W. Williams, 26, of Villa Drive, was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center this week and is being held without bond. Deputies say the charges stem from a March 28 break‑in at a residence on New Hope Street.

According to arrest warrants, Williams is accused of forcing his way into the home of Thurman Baldwin and Shawn Adams, where he allegedly confronted both occupants with a firearm. Investigators say the victims were held at gunpoint while their cellphones and roughly $2,000 in cash were taken.

The warrants also state that a security camera valued at more than $200 was damaged during the incident.

Williams faces charges of armed robbery, first‑degree burglary, two counts of second‑degree kidnapping, larceny, two counts of assault by pointing a gun, and injury to personal property.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
