Roger Devone Williams, 75, of Whiteville, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Roger was born on May 1, 1950, son of the late Herbert Devone Williams and Myrtle Williams Cain. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Richard Eugene Williams, Linda Fay Edwards, Deborah Jean Hinson.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Simmons officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-2:45 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service.
Roger was a lover of the mountains and was an avid fisherman.
The surviving family includes his wife of 45 years, Jeanette Buffkin Williams; grandsons, Woody Devone Harrelson, Zackary Blaze Rogers, both of the home; children, Roger Rogers (Stella) of Dublin, Peggy Rogers of Oak Island, Dennis Earl Harrrelson of Nakina; siblings, Pat Jones, Brenda Everhart, Cynthia Stutts (Frank); grandchildren, RJ Ransom (Kaitlyn), Santana Ransom (Tommy), Kaylyn Locklear; great-grandchildren, Chase Hunt, Braylee Ransom, Cameron Ransom, Rhetty Ransom, Khyson Ransom, Kole Ransom; two special fur babies, Coco Williams and Hoss Harrelson.
The family wishes to thank the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice for the loving care shown to Robert during his illness.
