RECALL:  A nationwide recall now includes several frozen pizzas sold at Walmart and ALDI, following a federal alert that a contaminated dry milk powder ingredient may contain salmonella, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

FSIS issued the initial public health alert on April 30, later expanding it as more products were identified. The contamination risk stems from an FDA‑regulated dry milk powder used across multiple frozen pizza brands. No illnesses have been reported, but officials warn that additional products may still be added to the recall list.

Two Mama Cozzi’s breakfast pizzas are included:

  • Biscuit Crust Sausage & Cheese Breakfast Pizza (18.5 oz) — Best by 10/15/2026 through 10/24/2026; EST 5699.
  • Biscuit Crust Pork Belly, Bacon, Pepper & Onion Breakfast Pizza (17.15 oz) — Best by 10/15/2026 through 10/23/2026; EST 5699.

The contaminated dry milk powder was distributed to multiple food manufacturers, leading to a widening recall across several brands. FSIS says more downstream products may be identified as the investigation continues.

Officials urge customers to:

  • Check freezers immediately for affected lot codes and best‑by dates.
  • Do not eat the recalled pizzas, even if cooked.
  • Throw them away or return them to the store for a refund.

Contact a healthcare provider if experiencing symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, or abdominal cramps.

Retailers, including Walmart and ALDI, have removed the affected products from shelves and issued sales restrictions while working with suppliers.
