Annual Senior Picnic from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Columbus County Fairgrounds. Columbus County Department of Aging will host a free Senior Picnic. The event offers fellowship, social engagement, and a welcoming outdoor environment for local seniors. Attendees can enjoy vendors, speakers, entertainment, and prizes, with a bagged lunch provided. Raffle drawings will take place throughout the event, and seniors are encouraged to pick up a raffle ticket at check‑in.

Columbus County Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting — 6:30 p.m., 127 W. Webster Street, Whiteville. The meeting is open to the public and will take place at the Commissioners’ Chambers.
Thursday, May 14
Annual Child Care Provider Appreciation Banquet – 6:30 p.m., Columbus County DSS, 40 Government Complex Road, Whiteville. The countywide appreciation banquet for childcare providers will be held Thursday evening at the Columbus County Department of Social Services.
5th Annual Cookout 4 Cops 11:30 a.m., 426 S. Lee Street in Whiteville, this year’s Cookout 4 Cops has been moved to Thursday due to a scheduling conflict with Friday’s Peace Officers Memorial Service. The event is open to all active law enforcement officers serving Columbus County, whether on duty or off duty.
Friday, May 15
Lunch at the Lake – 11:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m., annual fundraiser hosted by the Lake Waccamaw Depot at Lake Waccamaw Methodist Church. Activities include raffles, a door prize, and contests for best hat and best vest. Tickets are $25 and available by calling 910.770.6017.
Peace Officers Memorial Service – 11:30 a.m., Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, 817 Washington Street, Whiteville. The ceremony honors fallen law enforcement officers and brings together agencies and community members from across Columbus County.
