AYNOR, SC — Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) crews were dispatched to a serious ATV accident late Wednesday evening involving an ejection from the vehicle.
At approximately 8:11 p.m. on July 8, 2026, emergency responders were called to a field located off Hughes Gasque Road in Aynor following reports of an ATV crash. Upon arrival, crews faced challenging terrain, necessitating the removal of trees and heavy brush to reach the victim.
Responders utilized low-angle rescue operations to safely access the individual, who had been ejected and was located roughly 10 foot down in a ditch.
HCFR personnel provided on-scene stabilization and medical treatment before transporting the patient to a nearby landing zone. From there, the individual was airlifted by medical helicopter to a local hospital for further care.
The identity of the individual and their current condition have not yet been released.
