Ben was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed staying busy and was happiest when he was working with his hands. Whether he was tending to his yard, tinkering with cars, repairing antique clocks, or playing golf, he approached every hobby with patience and pride. Sundays were reserved for cheering on his favorite football teams or watching NASCAR races, two pastimes he greatly enjoyed. Ben was also an incredible storyteller, and he loved sharing memories from his younger days.
Ben was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pat Gunter Howell; his sons, James Allen Buchanan and Michael Arthur Howell; and countless cherished family members and friends who undoubtedly welcomed him home with open arms. While his family grieves his passing, they find comfort in imagining the joyful reunion that made their family whole once again.
He is survived by his daughters-in-law, Kay Buchanan and Tina Tsakaris; his six grandchildren, Michael Buchanan Arceneaux, Crystal Buchanan, Matthew Buchanan, Ashley Rosecrans, Faith Tsakaris, and Michael Tsakaris; and his six great-grandchildren, Brandon Arceneaux, Braelyn Arceneaux, Skylar Albright, Mack Rosecrans, Adelyn Keziah, and Scottie Keziah.
Ben will always be remembered as a fiercely independent, hardworking, and courageous man whose love for his family was unwavering. He lived a life marked by perseverance, integrity, generosity, and quiet strength. The lessons he taught, the example he set, and the memories he leaves behind will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family for generations to come.
