The Town of Ocean Isle Beach has reinstalled its Beach Safety Signs and Flag Warning Systems for the 2026 season, with thanks to the Ocean Isle Beach Fire Department for placing the updated stations along the beach strand.
These stations are a core part of the Town’s Beach Safety Program, offering daily flag warnings, flotation devices for water‑rescue assistance, and clear guidance on how to respond if someone is in distress.

Visitors are reminded to swim at their own risk and to call 911 immediately if they see a swimmer in trouble.
The Town urges beachgoers not to remove flotation devices or safety flags, as missing equipment can delay or prevent lifesaving action.
Rescue stations must also remain unobstructed – chairs, umbrellas, surfboards, coolers, and other personal items should never block access. Tampering with, removing, or obstructing safety equipment endangers both first responders and the public. Anyone who notices missing or damaged equipment is asked to notify Town staff or call 910-579-2804.
