Two Boiling Spring Lakes parcels are now scheduled for sale following court‑ordered foreclosure actions.
Bolivia, NC — Brunswick County has scheduled its next property tax foreclosure auction for Wednesday, June 26, 2026, with multiple parcels ordered for sale due to unpaid property taxes. The auction will begin at 12:00 noon on the steps of the Brunswick County Courthouse in Bolivia, where all bidders must be present to participate.
Two recently filed court orders confirm parcels now included in the June sale:
• Parcel 156NE015 (Boiling Spring Lakes, Section 28W, Lot 122) This property is being sold under an order in the case County of Brunswick vs. Marie T. Slaughter, Charles W. Pegg, Kimberly Slaughter Cummings, and Robert J. Cummings. The lot appears on the recorded plan of Boiling Spring Lakes in Cabinet H, Page 323 of the Brunswick County Register of Deeds.
• Parcel 173BC001 (Boiling Spring Lakes, Lot 15, Block G, Section 4) This parcel is being sold under a separate order in the case County of Brunswick vs. Sharon Vinson Curd. The lot is recorded in Book 6 of Maps at Page 160 and is located in Town Creek Township.
Both notices were signed by Commissioner Ryan S. King on May 26, 2026, and electronically filed with the Brunswick County Clerk of Superior Court.
County officials note that all properties are sold in as‑is condition and that bidders are responsible for researching each parcel before participating. The County does not provide warranties, guarantees, or refunds if a bidder misunderstands a property’s condition or status.
Auction Requirements and Bidding Rules
To bid, participants must attend the auction in person at the courthouse. Under state law, bidders become personally responsible for their bids, and all sales are final.
A deposit equal to 5% of the winning bid is required immediately at the close of the auction. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, certified bank check, cashier’s check, or money order. Personal checks are not accepted, and Brunswick County does not offer financing.
If a winning bidder fails to complete the purchase, the bidder forfeits the deposit and may face a default judgment if the property resells for a lower amount. Defaulting bidders may also be barred from future county foreclosure auctions.
Upset Bid Period
After the auction, a standard ten‑day upset bid period begins. Any higher bid must exceed the previous bid by at least 5% or $750, whichever is greater. Upset bids are filed with the Clerk of Court at the Brunswick County Courthouse. The sale is not final until a full ten‑day period passes without a higher bid.
Once the sale is confirmed, the winning bidder has one week from notification to pay the remaining balance. A commissioner’s deed will then be issued, and the buyer is responsible for recording the deed with the Brunswick County Register of Deeds.
County officials emphasize that the information provided about foreclosure properties is intended only as an aid to prospective bidders and should not be relied upon as the sole source of due diligence.
Current and Upcoming Sales
Brunswick County continues to update its foreclosure listings as new court orders are filed. All properties are sold in as‑is condition, and interested parties are encouraged to research each parcel thoroughly before bidding.
