TABOR CITY — A Fayetteville woman was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center early Friday morning after deputies charged her with misuse of 911 communications and assault with a deadly weapon, according to official jail and incident reports.
Whitney Iesha Miller, 35, of 1708 Cleghorn Circle, Hope Mills, was arrested by Columbus County deputies at 4:59 a.m. on July 17, 2026, and held under no bond, detention records show. The arrest followed an investigation by Cpl. Christopher Cotton, who documented the incident under case number 26‑1575. The report lists the location as Miller Road in Tabor City, with the offense described as “90Z – Misuse of 911 communications.”
Court filings later added a second charge of assault with a deadly weapon, though details of the alleged weapon and injuries were not disclosed in the initial report. The incident log identifies the State of North Carolina as the victim and notes that Miller is a Black female, 5′9″ tall, 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Miller’s case remains awaiting trial in Columbus County District Court. The sheriff’s office has not released further information regarding the circumstances of the alleged assault or the misuse of 911 calls.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
