CONWAY, SC — One of Horry County’s signature summer traditions returns Saturday, June 27, as Conway Riverfest brings a full day of concerts, competitions, vendors, and patriotic activities to the downtown riverfront.

The festival, organized by the Conway Chamber of Commerce, begins at 11 a.m. and stretches into the night with a fireworks finale over the Waccamaw River. Now in its 40‑plus‑year run, Riverfest remains one of the region’s largest seasonal gatherings, drawing families, visitors, and longtime locals to celebrate the start of the Independence season.

The day opens early with the Paddle Battle River Races at 10 a.m., sending kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards down the Waccamaw. At 11:30 a.m., the Red, White & Vroom Golf Cart Parade rolls through downtown with decorated carts from residents and businesses. The Stars & Stripes Cornhole Classic follows at noon, offering both backyard and advanced brackets.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors can explore the Business Expo, Artisans Market, and a wide range of food and beverage vendors. A dedicated Kids Zone, open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., features bounce houses, water activities, face painting, and a petting zoo.

This year’s festival also includes expanded historical programming tied to America’s 250th anniversary. The Horry County Historical Society will host Revolutionary War reenactors, a living history campsite, a Marsh Tacky horse, and themed photo opportunities.

Live music anchors the evening schedule. Local rock band Badlander takes the stage at 5:00 p.m., followed by the National Acts Vixen at 6:55 p.m. and Slaughter at 8:15 p.m. The night concludes with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m., drawing crowds to the riverfront for one of Conway’s most popular annual displays.

Admission to Riverfest is free, though some children’s activities require a small fee. Parking is available throughout downtown, with heavy congestion expected during peak afternoon and evening hours.

For longtime locals and first‑time visitors, Riverfest offers a full day that captures the spirit of Conway in one place. It’s a chance to slow down by the river, take in the music, and welcome another Carolina summer.
