Larceny at Sandy Acres Drive; Victim’s Son Arrested Hours Later

WHITEVILLE — Deputies are investigating a larceny reported Friday evening at 56 Sandy Acres Drive, where John B. Spivey, 54, reported the theft of Timberland boots valued at $150 and a jewelry box valued at $20.

Hours later, at 1:54 p.m., deputies arrested John Burvie Spivey Jr., 35, of the same address, on unrelated charges including:

  • Probation Violation
  • Possession of Controlled Substance on Jail Premises
  • Simple Possession Schedule III
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

While Spivey Jr. is not listed as a suspect in the larceny, deputies confirmed the incident occurred at the same residence. The larceny investigation remains open.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
