Joyner Swamp Road Crash – Friday, June 19, 2026
A two‑vehicle crash with confinement blocked lanes at Joyner Swamp Road and Edwards Road in Galivants Ferry on Friday afternoon.
Horry County Fire Rescue crews deployed extrication operations to remove the confined individuals. Three people were transported to the hospital with injuries. HCFR was dispatched at 3:06 p.m. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
West Highway 501 Crash – Saturday, June 20, 2026
Early Saturday morning, a single‑vehicle crash blocked lanes at West Highway 501 and Brown Swamp Road in Conway after a commercial vehicle struck shipping containers, a utility pole, and utility lines.
HCFR (Horry County Fire Rescue) crews used extrication operations to remove the entrapped occupant. One person was transported to the hospital with injuries. HCFR was dispatched at 5:53 a.m. SCHP is investigating, and Horry County Police Department assisted on scene. Utility crews worked to repair the damaged equipment.
Motorists experienced delays in both areas while emergency crews operated and cleared the scenes.
