FDA and CDC warn parents to stop using all lots of Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula after three infants were diagnosed with infant botulism.
Federal health officials have announced a nationwide recall of all lots of Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula after three infants in California, Washington, and Pennsylvania were diagnosed with infant botulism, a rare but serious illness linked to Clostridium botulinum spores
The FDA and CDC notified the company on June 12 that the illnesses were consistent with infant botulism. While no cans have tested positive, Nara Organics initiated a full recall “out of an abundance of caution.”
The recall covers 400g and 700g cans sold between July 2025 and June 2026 at Target stores, Target.com, and Nara.com.
Parents are urged to stop using the formula immediately. Unopened cans may be returned to Target or discarded. For opened cans, officials recommend photographing the lot code, labeling the container “Do Not Use,” and storing it separately for 30 days in case investigators request testing.
Refunds for purchases made through Nara.com will be issued automatically.
Symptoms of infant botulism can include constipation, weak cry, poor feeding, drooping eyelids, low muscle tone, and difficulty breathing. Health officials advise seeking immediate medical care if any symptoms appear.
