Brunswick County Invites Residents to Participate in Lifesaving Certification Training in 2026

Low‑cost First Aid, CPR, and AED certification sessions offered countywide throughout 2026

BOLIVIA, N.C. — Brunswick County residents will have several opportunities in 2026 to earn First Aid/CPR/AED certification through a partnership between the County’s Risk Management and Parks and Recreation departments. The training is designed to equip participants with the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiac, breathing, and first‑aid emergencies — knowledge that can save lives in homes, workplaces, and public spaces.

The program is open to residents 12 years and older, with participants under 18 required to attend with a parent or guardian. Those who complete the full course will receive an American Trauma Event Management (ATEM) First Aid/CPR/AED certification card, valid for two years.

Each training session is limited to only 12 participants, and registration is required in advance. The cost is $10.00 per person, payable online at the time of registration.

Classes run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a morning session, a thirty-minute lunch break, and an afternoon session. Attendees must complete both sessions to receive certification. Participants should bring their own lunch and beverages.

Training sessions will be held throughout the year at community buildings in Winnabow, Ash, Leland, and Supply. Each date opens for registration several weeks in advance, giving residents multiple chances to secure a spot.

Brunswick County officials encourage anyone interested — from teens seeking skills for babysitting or summer jobs to adults wanting to be better prepared for emergencies — to take advantage of the low‑cost, high‑impact training.

2026 training dates, locations, and registration opening periods available through Brunswick County Parks and Recreation.
