Single lot of 6‑oz bags recalled after Salmonella contamination detected
Elite Treats, LLC of Boca Raton, Florida, is recalling one lot of Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs due to a Salmonella contamination risk, according to an FDA‑posted notice dated February 24, 2026.
The recall covers 6‑ounce bags in black‑and‑gold packaging marked with lot number 24045 and an expiration date of 04/2027.
The product was distributed through Florida Hardware to feed stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

A third‑party lab detected Salmonella in a related, unreleased lot, prompting the recall. No illnesses have been reported.
Salmonella can make pets sick and can spread to people through handling the treats, touching contaminated surfaces, or contact with pets that consumed the product. Pets may show diarrhea, vomiting, fever, or lethargy; some show no symptoms but still shed the bacteria. People may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, with more severe complications possible in vulnerable individuals.
Consumers should stop using the product, dispose of it securely, and wash and sanitize bowls, scoops, storage containers, and surfaces the treats touched. Handwashing after handling pet food is strongly advised.
For refunds or replacements, consumers may contact Elite Treats at 561.901.5310 or elite.treats@yahoo.com, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
