Oak Island, NC — The Oak Island Police Department has arrested Amy Garcia, also known as Amy Woodruff and Amy Sizemore, of Bolivia, NC, on thirteen felony counts of Embezzlement and one felony count of Money Laundering following a months‑long investigation into alleged financial fraud involving multiple property owners.

According to the department, the investigation began in December 2025 after property owners reported concerns involving Garcia’s business, Salty Carolina Vibes Realty, formerly located at 5016 E Oak Island Dr., Suite 2. The business formally closed in May 2025.

Detectives determined that thirteen victims had contracted Garcia for property management services, relying on her as their agent and fiduciary. Evidence gathered during the investigation indicates Garcia collected rental payments on behalf of these homeowners but failed to remit the funds as required by law and contract. Instead, investigators allege she diverted the money for personal use before leaving Brunswick County without notifying clients.

On Monday, April 6, 2026, Garcia was located in Wayne County, NC, and taken into custody without incident by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad. She is now facing charges in Brunswick County and awaits further judicial proceedings.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
