Crews start work along Peachtree Road and the Socastee swing bridge as a 47.4‑acre tract moves into construction following a 2025 rezoning approval.

Socastee, SC — Crews have begun the land clearing along Peachtree Road and Socastee swing bridge for 145 single-family homes, along with three small parks within the community.
The 47.4 acres between Highway 544 and Carolina Bays Parkway was approved for rezoning in 2025 by Horry County Council.
The homes will be built on 45.7 acres with 1.7 acre rezoned for an existing auto shop. The development will have entrances on both Peachtree Road and Leisure Lane.
