A routine traffic stop in Leland escalated into a major narcotics bust after Brunswick County deputies seized a firearm, hundreds of fentanyl pills, and trafficking‑level quantities of cocaine during a roadside investigation on US Highway 74.
According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Vice and Narcotics Unit (BCVN) and Special Operations Unit (SOU) initiated the stop following a brief investigation.
