Winnabow Firefighters Respond to Auto Accident With Entrapment on Green Hill Road and U.S. 17

Second crew handles simultaneous medical call; third crew stands by for additional response

On Monday, March 3, 2026, at 7:10 p.m., Winnabow Rescue Engine 671, staffed by Captain Albosta, Lieutenant Butchello, and Firefighters Mintz, Corbett, and B. Jones, responded to an auto accident with entrapment at the intersection of Green Hill Road and U.S. 17.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Brunswick County EMS, and the North Carolina State Police also responded.

At the same time, Winnabow Engine 675, staffed by Firefighters Reshetar, Roberts, and Kerns, was dispatched to a medical assistance call elsewhere in Winnabow.

An additional crew remained on standby with Winnabow Engine 674 in case further assistance was needed or if additional calls were dispatched.

Winnabow Fire & Rescue continues to expand its multi‑unit response capacity as call volumes increase across the Green Hill and U.S. 17 corridors, ensuring simultaneous incidents can be covered without delay.
