By BC News Staff Writer

Columbus Regional Healthcare System will hold its next Joint Camp on Tuesday, March 24 at 4:00 p.m., offering a detailed look at what patients can expect before, during, and after hip or knee replacement surgery.

The session will be held in the Sunshine Conference Room at the hospital’s main campus on Jefferson Street, directly across from the gift shop.

The program reflects Columbus Regional’s long‑standing commitment to orthopedic care in Columbus County and the surrounding region. Over the years, the hospital has become a trusted provider for joint replacement procedures, supported by coordinated rehabilitation services, patient education, and a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping individuals regain mobility and reduce chronic pain.

Many residents turn to Columbus Regional when arthritis, injury, or long‑term wear begins to limit daily activities, and the hospital’s orthopedic program continues to expand its role in meeting those needs.

During Joint Camp, participants will hear directly from orthopedic surgeons, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists who guide patients through every stage of the joint‑replacement process. The team will explain how to prepare for surgery, what happens in the operating room, and how recovery typically progresses in the days and weeks that follow. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, address concerns, and meet the professionals who will support them throughout their surgical journey. The session is designed to ease anxiety, build confidence, and help patients understand the steps involved in returning to a more active, pain‑free life.

Joint replacement is often recommended when conservative treatments no longer provide relief from severe arthritis or joint damage. For many patients, hip or knee replacement can significantly reduce pain and restore independence. Columbus Regional’s Joint Camp aims to ensure that individuals considering the procedure have the information they need to make informed decisions and feel prepared for the road ahead.

The event is free and open to anyone interested in learning more about joint replacement surgery. For additional information, community members may contact Columbus Regional Healthcare System at 910.642.9355 or visit crhealthcare.org
