Nakina, NC — Emergency crews responded Friday morning after a two‑vehicle collision at the intersection of New Britton Highway East and Ward Town Road North.
Columbus County 911 Communications dispatched units at 10:37 a.m. for a crash involving a white SUV and a black sedan. Nakina Rescue arrived with EMS 29 and EMS 10, while Old Dock Fire Department responded with Engine 2008, Service 2012, and Brush 2011.
Tabor City Paramedic QRV 21, which was already nearby, also responded and boarded Nakina EMS 29 to assist with patient care. Whiteville Rescue Medic 91 and Medic 3 arrived shortly afterward, with a member of Medic 91’s crew joining QRV 21 and EMS 29 during treatment.

Following assessment, one patient was transported by ground to a local hospital. A second patient was taken to a nearby landing zone, where care was transferred to AirLink for air medical transport to an area trauma center.
No additional information regarding patient conditions was immediately available. Agencies cleared the scene once both patients were transported.
