SUNSET BEACH, NC — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of vehicle break‑ins reported in the Seaside Road area, prompting deputies to remind residents to take extra precautions overnight.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, several vehicles were entered during the early‑morning hours, and investigators are working to determine whether the incidents are connected. Deputies say many vehicle break‑ins are crimes of opportunity, often involving unlocked doors or valuables left in plain view.
Residents are urged to take simple but effective steps to reduce the risk of theft, including locking vehicle doors, removing valuables, and ensuring keys, key fobs, and firearms are never left inside a vehicle.
Investigators are also asking anyone who lives in the Seaside Road area to review home security or surveillance footage from yesterday or this morning for any suspicious activity. Those who observe anything unusual are asked to contact the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office at 910.253.2777
Deputies emphasize that reporting suspicious behavior as soon as it’s noticed plays a critical role in preventing further crimes and keeping neighborhoods safe.
