Multi‑agency enforcement effort yields 41 officers, 41 citations and charges
February 27, 2026, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the NC Governor’s Highway Safety Program to conduct a saturation operation in the Clarendon community and surrounding areas.
The operation focused on strengthening compliance with motor vehicle laws and reducing crashes, injuries, and fatalities associated with impaired driving. To support the effort, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Forensic Test for Alcohol Branch deployed its BAT (Breath Alcohol Testing) Mobile Unit, equipped with a magistrate’s office, evidential breath-testing instruments, fingerprinting equipment, and full on‑site processing capabilities.
