Three residents displaced; lightning strike suspected as cause

Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched at 10:52 p.m. to Cypress Springs Way for a reported residential structure fire. Crews arrived to find a residence with fire damage concentrated in the attic area, and the incident was brought under control shortly after arrival.
Preliminary information indicates the fire was caused by an apparent lightning strike. No injuries were reported.
Three people were temporarily displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross of South Carolina.
