Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck in Lowes Foods Parking Lot, Leland Police Say

Leland, NC — 76‑year‑old woman was hit Thursday afternoon on E. Cutlar Crossing; investigation remains active.

Leland Police Department is investigating a crash in the Lowes Foods parking lot that left a pedestrian dead. Officers were called to the store at 1152 E. Cutlar Crossing shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28.

Police identified the pedestrian as 76‑year‑old Arleen Patricia Paul. She was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where she died Friday morning.

No additional details about the circumstances of the crash were immediately available. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
