Badges, Boats, & Boots Softball Game Raises Over $1,300 for Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter
By BC News Staff Writer
OAK ISLAND, NC — Community Resource Officer Joe Trahey presented a check for more than $1,300 yesterday, May 20, 2026, to the Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter. The local non-profit organization was selected as this year’s beneficiary for the 4th Annual Badges, Boats, & Boots First Responder Softball Game.
Despite damp weather conditions during the tournament, community support remained high. Funding for this year’s donation was bolstered significantly by a large contribution from the Oak Island Elks Lodge No. 2769, alongside strong event t-shirt sales that extended online well into last week.
