Michael “Mike” Patrick McClain – Myrtle Beach SC

Michael “Mike” Patrick McClain, 56, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, after a long battle with kidney failure.

Born in Montour Falls, New York, on December 14, 1969, Mike graduated from Charles O. Dickerson High School in 1988. He loved NASCAR, golf, bowling, baseball, and working with his hands. His many hobbies included RC cars, boats, puzzles, and anything else he could take apart and put back together. Mike was happiest spending time with family and friends and driving anything with wheels—especially big trucks.

Mike was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Alberta McClain; his maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Richard Sheesley; his father, Merrield “Mick” McClain; his stepmother, Ellen McClain; his brother-in-law, Mario Craft; his son-in-law, Jason Cowen; and, of course, his beloved dog, Tillie.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Jennifer; his daughters, Amber Cowen and Jessica Davis; his son, Brayden; his mother, Nancy Boylan, and stepfather, William Boylan; his brothers, Ed Pike of Watkins Glen, New York, William Boylan (Lindsey) of Greenville, North Carolina, and Matthew Boylan (Amy) of Chapmanville, West Virginia; and his sisters, Kimberlee Boylan (Craig) of Ithaca, New York, Marlea Craft, and Veronica Boylan of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Baylee, Bentley, and Paislee Cowen of Florida, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Mike will be remembered for his big heart, quiet strength, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the friends who will miss him dearly.

A Memorial Service for Mike will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 12:00pm to 02:00pm. The service will held at Myrtle Beach Funeral Home – 4505 US Highway 17 Bypass South, Myrtle Beach, SC

In lieu of flowers the family asks to make a donation in Mike’s name to the National Kidney Foundation.
