Free Summer Meals Available for Columbus County Children Ages 1–18

Three Columbus County Schools sites will serve breakfast and lunch on weekdays beginning June 15.

Columbus County, NC — Columbus County Schools will open multiple cafeterias this summer to provide free meals for all children and teens ages 1–18. The Summer Food Service Program begins June 15 and runs through late July, depending on the site.

No registration is required, and children do not need to attend the hosting school to participate. All meals must be eaten in the cafeteria.

Acme-Delco Elementary, Hallsboro-Artesia Elementary, Tabor City School, and West Columbus School will operate Monday through Thursday from June 15 through July 22.

All four sites will close June 29 through July 6. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m., followed by lunch from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m.

Chadbourn Elementary will operate Monday through Thursday from June 15 through July 29. The site will also close June 29 through July 6. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m., with lunch from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m.

The program is open to all children ages 1–18, regardless of school enrollment or residency, and is supported through the USDA Summer Food Service Program.
