Evergreen Woman Charged with DWI and Child Abuse Following Reckless Driving Incident

EVERGREEN, NC — A 46-year-old woman was arrested overnight in Columbus County after law enforcement observed erratic driving with a child in the vehicle.

Crystal Strickland, of Evergreen, was taken into custody at 12:36 a.m. on August 6 by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office. Strickland was charged with driving while impaired (DWI), misdemeanor child abuse, reckless driving with wanton disregard, failure to maintain lane control, and speeding.

She was held on a $2,500 secured bond at the Columbus County Detention Center
