Construction on Fair Bluff’s long‑anticipated riverside park is expected to begin this summer, according to an update from the design team overseeing the project. While the park will span more than 20 acres, it remains unclear which recreational features will ultimately be included. Final amenities will depend on how much funding remains after environmental hazard mitigation and site preparation are completed.
Early concepts for the park outline an ambitious vision: a skate park, baseball field, basketball and pickleball courts, a disc golf course, RV and tent camping areas, and a dog park. A proposed railroad museum has also been discussed. Whether all—or only some—of these elements move forward will be determined as costs become clearer.
The Fair Bluff Town Council’s Dec. 2 meeting agenda did not call for a vote on the park plan.
The project is being guided in part by Resource Environmental Solutions, a Texas‑based firm that describes itself as “the largest environmental mitigation company in the U.S. and a leader in water resource solutions using nature‑based approaches.”
