New training facility expands hands‑on instruction for EMS, fire, rescue, and law enforcement programs.

Bolivia, NC — Brunswick Community College has officially dedicated the Alan Holden Public Safety Center, a modern instructional hub designed to prepare the next generation of first responders across Brunswick County and the surrounding region.

The new center includes advanced simulation technology, specialized classrooms, and realistic training environments that mirror the conditions EMS, fire, rescue, and law enforcement personnel face in the field. College leaders say the investment strengthens local workforce development and supports the agencies that rely on BCC graduates to fill critical public safety roles.

The facility is named in honor of Alan Holden, recognized for decades of service and leadership to both the college and the community. Local officials, public safety partners, and community members attended the dedication ceremony celebrating the milestone.
