NMB, SC — North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue is encouraging residents to donate aluminum cans to support burn‑injured children and their families across South Carolina.

All proceeds benefit the South Carolina Burned Children’s Fund, which provides critical resources and programs for young burn survivors, including:

Camp ‘Can’ Do – an overnight summer camp that helps children build confidence, friendships, and resilience.

Family Support Services – assistance with comfort kits, travel needs, specialty garments, and other essential items for families navigating burn recovery.

Burn Prevention Education – community programs that promote fire safety and burn awareness.

A red aluminum can collection trailer is located at the North Myrtle Beach Recycling Center on Bay Street and accepts donations year‑round. The department will continue the program as long as recycling revenue supports the Burned Children’s Fund.

Residents are encouraged to participate. Every can contributes to services that directly benefit South Carolina’s burn survivors. Learn more at SCBCF.org
