Retail services and PO Boxes remain at the current Old Ocean Highway location as carriers move to a larger site
BOLIVIA, NC — A message from the Bolivia Postmaster outlines upcoming changes as the community continues to grow.
The Post Office has secured a new location for its mail carriers, with the transition expected to take place over the summer months.
The current Bolivia Post Office will remain open for all retail services, PO Box customers, and package pickups, and no changes are planned for those who use the lobby or counter services.
According to the Postmaster, the expansion of rural routes has outpaced the capacity of the existing building. Carrier operations have permanently outgrown the small facility, prompting the move to a larger site better suited to the area’s increasing delivery needs.
Residents are asked to be patient as the transition progresses. Cleanup and improvements at the existing location will continue through the summer, with the goal of reopening the parking lot fully and restoring the appearance of the Old Ocean Highway office for customers.
The Postmaster noted that community feedback played a role in securing approval for the larger carrier facility, which is intended to support long‑term growth across the region.
