FDA Expands Recall of All Clover Hill Dairy Cheeses Due to Listeria Risk

Clover Hill Dairy has expanded its recall to include all Clover Hill Dairy brand cheeses after federal officials warned the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The expanded recall, announced June 18, covers every Clover Hill Dairy cheese currently on the market, including hard and soft varieties such as ricotta, cuajada, cheddar, colby, Monterey Jack, marble jack, cheddar curds, flavored cheeses, pepper jack varieties, and smoked cheeses in multiple sizes.

The products were sold at the company’s retail market, farmers markets, and through distributors in North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C. Some items may have been re‑labeled under other brands, including KESSO, QUESOS LA RICURA, IZALCO, DE MI PUEBLO, and RIO LINDO.

Packages may identify the manufacturer as Clover Hill Dairy, plant number 24‑128.

Federal health officials report 9 illnesses, 8 hospitalizations, and 1 death linked to the soft cheese products.

Do not eat, sell, or serve any Clover Hill Dairy cheese.

Check all labels, including re‑labeled products.

Return items to the point of purchase for a refund.
