Free Summer Meals Available for Columbus County Children Ages 1–18

Three Columbus County Schools sites will serve breakfast and lunch on weekdays beginning June 17.

Columbus County, NC — Three cafeterias within the Columbus County School system will open this summer to provide free meals for all children and teens ages 1–18. The program begins June 17 and runs through late July, depending on the site. No registration is required, and children do not need to attend the hosting school to participate. All meals must be eaten in the cafeteria.

Chadbourn Elementary will operate June 17 through July 30, Monday through Thursday. The site will close July 2–3. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., followed by lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Tabor City School will also serve meals June 17 through July 30, Monday through Thursday. The site will close June 30 through July 7. Breakfast runs from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., and lunch is available from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Acme Delco Elementary will operate June 17 through July 23, Monday through Thursday, and will close June 30 through July 7. Breakfast will be served from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m., with lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The program is open to all children ages 1–18, regardless of school enrollment or residency, and is supported through the USDA Summer Food Service Program.
