In a world full of copycat recipes I decided to do one of my own. There is this nice place in Massapequa, Long Island. The town I grew up in and I did work for them as a teenager. This wonderful place is known as All American. It has always been a staple in the community and people come from far and wide to get their food. One of the standouts are their french fries. I am going to show you how to make them at home. I did mine a thicker cut than them as I hand cut them but I would recommend a potato slicer. You can make as many or as few as you’d like. The end result is heaven. Enjoy!

Ingredients
Potatoes
Oil
Salt
Directions
Step 1: Peel and cut your potatoes into fries.

Step 2: Place in a bowl of water and soak them covered overnight in the refrigerator.

Step 3: Drain your potatoes in a strainer and pat dry. Heat your oil. Make sure it is hot so they do not get too oily. Once the oil is up to temp add your potatoes to the oil.

Step 4: After around 10 minutes remove them from the oil and place on paper towels to soak up the extra oil. Salt to taste and serve.
