June 3 event at Leland Cultural Arts Center to offer screenings, resources, and panel discussions
LELAND, NC — The Town of Leland will host a Women’s Health Forum on June 3 at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, 1212 Magnolia Village Way. The event will feature free health screenings, educational materials, and two panel discussions focused on women’s health and wellness across all stages of life.
Health screenings will be offered from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., including mammograms through a mobile mammography unit, as well as blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure checks.
Two panel discussions led by healthcare professionals are scheduled for 5;00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Each session will last approximately 50 minutes and include opportunities for attendees to submit written questions. Participating organizations include Brunswick Medical Center, Novant Health, and Christian Recovery Center.
The first session, “Navigating Women’s Health Through Every Stage,” will cover maternity care, pre and post menopause, and mental health considerations associated with those life stages. The second session, “Thriving Through the Years,” will focus on aging and wellness, stroke prevention and recovery, and cardiovascular health.
“Leland is one of the fastest-growing towns in North Carolina, and with that growth comes a responsibility to ensure residents know about local healthcare services and resources,” said Councilmember Leland Hyer. “This forum is an opportunity to connect our community with healthcare professionals, provide valuable information, and encourage conversations about women’s health. I hope events like this continue to expand in the future so we can highlight healthcare resources and services available to all residents.”
