WHITEVILLE — A Whiteville man was jailed June 23 after deputies charged him with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, No Operator’s License, Open Container, Resisting a Public Officer, and Reckless Driving to Endanger. Jeffery Ryan Chavis, 44, was held on $3,500 secured bond. The charges align with an incident reported June 19 in Tabor City, where a Honda dirt bike valued at $1,200 was stolen from a residence on Swamp Fox Highway.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
