True tales of maritime treachery and colonial villainy take center stage at the museum’s upcoming documentary matinee.
CONWAY, SC — The treacherous history of the Carolinas’ coastline is stepping out of the history books and onto the screen.
The Horry County Museum’s 2026 Documentary Film Series continues this week with a special screening of Pirates of the Carolinas. Part of the acclaimed Carolina Stories series produced by SCETV, the hour-long feature examines the historical records of maritime crime, daring raids, and legendary outlaws who operated off the shores of North and South Carolina during the Golden Age of Piracy.
The screening is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway. Admission to the event is free and open to the general public.
