The Town of Leland will hold two public meetings next week, and the public is invited to attend. The Leland Tourism Development Authority (LTDA) meets on Monday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Economic Development Committee on Thursday, July 9 at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings will take place at Leland Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive.
July 6 – Leland Tourism Development Authority
The LTDA agenda includes review of proposed logo design and brand packaging, an update on promotional item purchases, and discussion of the 2027 meeting schedule.
Action items include:
- A grant contract request for an additional train attraction.
- A grant contract for Leland in Lights.
- Consideration of voiding the previously approved grant contract for the 2026 Brunswick Beer & Cider Jazz Festival.
- Approval of the 2026 Our State Magazine marketing contract.
- Authorization for additional promotional video production services with Springer Photography.
- Adoption of an amended 2026 LTDA meeting schedule.
The meeting also includes the July 2026 TDA Staff Report and information on LTDA participation in the Founders Park Grand Opening on July 31.
July 9 – Economic Development Committee
The Economic Development Committee will introduce new members Karen Barefoot, William Chestnut, and Aaron Talley, followed by committee and staff introductions.
Members will elect a chair and vice chair for the upcoming term. A public comment period will be held, and the proceedings will be live‑streamed and videotaped, with recording permitted by the public and media.
The agenda also includes a strategic plan update, a post‑NCEDA conference report, and monthly staff reports.
