Leko Ladon Jones (MBPD)

Myrtle Beach, SC — The Myrtle Beach Police Department (MBPD) says a coordinated, multi‑agency effort led to the arrest of Leko Ladon Jones, 46, who was wanted by Burlington, North Carolina authorities on charges of Attempted First‑Degree Murder and Assault by Strangulation. Jones remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

According to MBPD, its Patrol and Investigations divisions worked with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to share information, locate Jones, and then took him into custody.

The department said the case underscores the importance of strong partnerships and communication between agencies across state lines, crediting all involved for bringing the investigation to a successful resolution.
