Tabor City, NC — A Columbus County man is facing multiple felony charges following an afternoon arrest that involved the alleged destruction of criminal evidence.
On July 14, at approximately 3:53 PM, deputies arrested 21-year-old Kenneth Lateral Burgess Jr. of Ten Mile Road, Tabor City. While details surrounding the initial encounter have not been fully released, authorities confirmed that Burgess attempted to alter or destroy evidence during the interaction with law enforcement.
Burgess was taken into custody and charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Alter/Steal/Destroy Criminal Evidence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Burgess was processed at the Columbus County Detention Center and placed under a $100,000.00 secured bond.
