Tabor City Man Charged With Multiple Drug Felonies After Probation Violation Arrest

WHITEVILLE — A Whiteville man is facing a long list of felony drug charges after deputies arrested him Thursday on a probation violation.

Shawn Jarman Murchison, 38, was charged with: – Misdemeanor probation violation – Possess with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana – PWIMSD MDA/MDMA – Maintaining a place for controlled substances – Possession of firearm by felon – Multiple “within 1,000 ft of school/park” enhancements Document citation: “Bond Amount/Type: $100,000.00 / Secured Bond… Felony / Awaiting Trial.”

He received $10,000 and $100,000 secured bonds.

NC law treats drug offenses near schools and parks as enhanced felonies, carrying significantly higher penalties.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
