


TABOR CITY — A months‑long narcotics investigation in the Green Acres community culminated in a major enforcement operation Monday, resulting in the arrest of a Tabor City man on multiple trafficking charges and the service of additional outstanding warrants, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
Vice/Narcotics Investigators executed a search warrant on April 27 at 111 Pine Circle Road, following what Sheriff Bill Rogers described as extensive surveillance, intelligence gathering, and undercover operations targeting illegal drug distribution in Tabor City, surrounding communities, and parts of South Carolina.
The operation involved multiple units, including the Special Operations Division, H.E.A.T., SWAT, and the Criminal Investigations Division.
Large Quantities of Narcotics Seized
During the search, investigators seized crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, prescription medications, and other controlled substances, along with additional evidence tied to the ongoing investigation.
Primary Arrest: Donald Lee Vereen
Donald Lee Vereen, of Pine Circle Road in Tabor City, was arrested and charged with a slate of felony drug offenses, including:
- Two counts of Trafficking in Cocaine
- Two counts of Trafficking in Opium/Heroin
- One count of Manufacturing Cocaine
- Five counts of PWIMSD Schedule II Controlled Substance
- One count of PWIMSD Marijuana
- One count of Sell Schedule II Controlled Substance
- One count of Maintaining a Place for a Controlled Substance
- Two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Vereen received a $100,000 secured bond and remains in the Columbus County Detention Center.
Two Others Served with Outstanding Warrants
During the operation, investigators also served unrelated processes on two additional individuals:
- Jesmaine Lamont Strickland, of Loris, S.C., was served with true bill indictments for misdemeanor possession of Schedule VI, reckless driving to endanger, and no operator’s license. He received a $35,000 secured bond.
- Audrianna Watson, of Tabor City, was served with two counts of failure to appear and received a $3,000 secured bond.
Both remain incarcerated at the detention center.
Sheriff Rogers Praises Investigators
Sheriff Rogers commended the coordinated effort behind the operation, saying investigators “dedicated countless hours to surveillance, intelligence gathering, and undercover operations to ensure this investigation was handled thoroughly and safely.”
“This case is a strong example of how teamwork, shared resources, and persistent investigative work can directly impact the safety of our communities,” Rogers said.
The investigation remains active.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
